Each climate project requires careful preparation: from the coordination and refinement of all initial data to accurate detailing and visualizations. A successful implementation of the future object lays at the stage of preparing the pre-design documentation.
Alter Air has been on the HVAC market for over 13 years, therefore it has a well-established process for the development of pre-design documentation. Now we will take a look at how the documentation is prepared for each type of climate system.

Preparation of pre-design documentation for the ventilation system for an apartment and a house is divided into several stages:
1. CONSULTATION - during 40 minutes - 1 hour, the customer together specialists discuss the specifics of the facility, the available data (based on the drawing) and the concept of the future system. The client gets the understanding of the system operation, and the engineers get the project aim
The consultation takes place at the Alter Air office (at the address: 3D, M. Maksymovycha st., Kyiv). If the circumstances or location of the client do not allow to come, the consultation takes place in the form of a video conference. This approach allows not only verbally discuss a future project, but also to demonstrate the systems that are already installed and operating in the office, which will simplify the understanding.
2. DEVELOPMENT OF THE PRE-DESIGN DOCUMENTATION - engineers develop the next package of the documentation:
- Calculations for the air volume - a document that contains calculations for the volume of air supplied by the future system. They are the basis for the selection of equipment capacity.
- Finalized commercial offer in 2 parts:
- Cost of equipment.
- Aerodynamics cost (ducts + grilles/diffusers).
IMPORTANT! The commercial offer contains 3 options in terms of pricing policy:
- A budget option;
- Medium option;
- Premium option.

The cost of the future project of the ventilation system for a house or apartment is adjusted at the expense of equipment - depending on the technology, the price of the entire system changes. The cost of aerodynamics remains unchanged in all 3 variants, since a decrease in its price entails a decrease in its area, which will lead to incorrect operation or increased noise characteristics.
- Drawing (PDF) - includes visualization of the future system: equipment placement, air duct trajectory; placement of the air distribution system - grilles or diffusers. Verbally, the client also receives information about the necessary lowering of the ceilings.
3. APPROVAL OF PRE-DESIGN DOCUMENTATION - on the basis of the developed documentation, we have another meeting with the client (in the office or by video). The purpose of this meeting is to answer all the client's questions and give an understanding: Why do we need a system? What is its cost? What will the system look like? How much air will enter and be removed from the room?

Ventilation system calculation:
The client does not pay for the design, but only for the solution = equipment and piping. To start designing, they make an advance payment which equals 10% from the cost of the future system. HOUSE AND APARTMENT AIR CONDITIONING
Pre-design documentation is developed in case of a ducted air conditioning system due to the fact that this type of system affects the architecture of the room.
The pre-design stage of the air conditioning system development includes:
1. CONSULTATION WITH A CLIENT - includes obtaining all the necessary initial data, discussion of wishes and the formation of the concept for the future system. It takes place in the format of a personal meeting at the Alter Air office (3D, M. Maksymovycha st., Kyiv) or in the format of a video conference. This approach allows you not only to talk about the systems, but also to demonstrate the options implemented in the office.
2. CARRYING OUT CALCULATIONS AND PREPARING THE DOCUMENTATION - on the basis of the obtained data, engineers make the calculation of heat gain. All factors affecting the flow of heat into the room are taken into account: thermal conductivity of double-glazed windows, walls, roofs; equipment present in the room, number of residents, area of premises, etc.
The air conditioning system is created only on the basis of calculations. This allows you to be confident in its correct selection, adequate power and quiet operation.
3. ISSUING OF PRE-DESIGN DOCUMENTATION TO THE CUSTOMER, namely:
- Calculation of heat gain - a document that underlies the selection and calculation of the system. Allows you to understand the amount of heat entering the room and select the correct equipment power.
- Commercial offer - the cost of the future system in two sections:
- Cost of equipment.
- Cost of piping (air distribution system).
IMPORTANT! Each commercial offer from the Alter Air company implies the preparation of 3 options: budget, medium and premium class. The price of the system changes depending on the selected equipment, the cost of piping remains unchanged. A decrease in the price of an air distribution system (ducts, grilles/diffusers) entails a decrease in its area, which will lead to incorrect operation or increased noise characteristics.
- Visualization (PDF) - a drawing that displays the location of the equipment and the air distribution system (ducts + grilles/diffusers). The client is verbally informed about the required height for ceiling lowering.
4. PRE-DESIGN DOCUMENTATION APPROVAL - going through and discussing with the client the received documents, answering all questions. The main task of this meeting is to give a clear understanding. What does the system look like? What are its technical characteristics? How much does the air conditioning system cost?

The process of developing the pre-design documentation for the heating system in an apartment or a house also has its own stages:
1. CONSULTATION - meeting with a client in the office (duration - from 40 minutes to 1 hour), receiving all the initial data and setting tasks. This stage plays a key role, since in the case of a heating system, one of the most important factors that affect the development of pre-design documentation is the housing energy efficiency.
The level of housing energy efficiency is influenced by literally all components of the building - building materials and insulation of walls, roofs, floors, double-glazed windows and doors. By collecting all the indicators together, engineers receive the thermal resistance of each site and the heat loss of a house or apartment. This calculation is fundamental, as it allows you to understand which equipment will be rational in each individual case.
If the building is under construction, Alter Air specialists will provide advice on the choice of double-glazed windows, insulation, etc., which will help improve the energy efficiency of housing.
In the Alter Air showroom, specialists will demonstrate functional equipment of various types and its piping. And after receiving the initial data on the components of the building, engineers understand the task of the pre-design documentation.
2. CALCULATIONS AND PREPARATION OF DOCUMENTATION - on the basis of the received technical information, engineers prepare a package of pre-design documentation for heating a house or apartment, which includes:
- Thermal calculation - carried out on the basis of the resistance indicators of all components of the building. The result is a document that displays heat loss for each of the premises and which is the basis for selecting the optimal type and power of equipment.
Finalized commercial offer:
- Boiler room - heat source: heat pump, gas or electric boiler;
- Boiler room - equipment piping and installation work - pipelines and valves;
- Warm floor system;
- Radiator/convector heating - equipment;
- Radiator/convector heating - piping and work;
- System automation - optional.
The cost of the future system is being developed in two aspects:
- middle option;
- premium option.
The cost of the system depends on the selected equipment and materials that are used in the piping of the system. In 99% of cases, Alter Air ties the boiler room on copper pipelines, but in the case of a more budgetary option, it is possible to make a polypropylene piping.
3. APPROVAL OF THE PRE-DESIGN DOCUMENTATION PACKAGE - another consultation with the client, the purpose of which is to present and discuss the developed documentation. After the meeting, the client comes out with a clear understanding: How does the system work? What are its technical indicators? What is the cost of the system?

Consultation
The first meeting takes place in our showroom and lasts 1-1.5 hours. We discuss your wishes, features of the object and the profitability of a particular solution. We show how the equipment implemented in the office works - you will have a clear idea of the implemented engineering systems, their efficiency and ergonomics.

Commercial offer
You receive a feasibility study and a commercial offer based on it. It also includes an estimate for the equipment and strapping - you will have the right idea of the budget right from the start. The final cost after drawing up the project can change within 15% up or down.

Design
After agreeing on the commercial offer, the client makes 10% of the advance payment of the total amount. We start designing engineering systems. The developed project is agreed with the client, if necessary, corrections are made. The project is then approved by both parties in writing. You will receive a complete package of project documents.

Installation of systems
We deliver and install all the necessary equipment. We effectively integrate it with other systems and interior solutions. We carry out commissioning works. The final launch of the engineering system is carried out in the presence of you and the chief engineer, so that you are convinced of the correct operation of all components.

Service maintenance
We carry out warranty and post-warranty maintenance of engineering systems - during the entire period of their operation. We clean and replace filters and accessories. At the request of the client, we can modify the system or optimize it in order to change the performance or save resources.

Viessmann Vitocal 100-S AWB-M 230V 101.A04 "air-to-water" heat pump is designed to provide heating and hot water supply. Consists of 2 separate blocks - internal (which is located in our office) and external (located on the outer wall of the building) .They are connected to each other by means of freon pipes. Through them the refrigerant (R410A) with a high temperature moves to the indoor unit, giving off heat to the system.

UPONOR distributor manifolds are a Scandinavian approach to heating. They are an element of underfloor heating and contribute to high-quality and efficient heating of a house or apartment. They are produced for hot and cold water, can be interconnected and completely eliminate the risk of pipe breakage.

ACCUMULATING TANK DRAZICE UKV 102
Accumulating tank Drazice UKV 102 is designed to accumulate excess heat from the heat generator of the heating system (in our case, a heat pump). It is made of steel, the inner surface remains untreated. Covered with non-removable polyurethane insulation. we give preference to the Drazlce brand for the implementation of systems with heating elements.
SILENCER FOR AIR DUCTS
Silencers for ducts are necessary in order to reduce the noise level. This requirement is especially important in office premises. Silencers are installed in the ducts directly behind the ventilation unit and significantly reduce the noise level in the ventilation ducts. In our projects we use the highest quality sound attenuators of well-known brands, for example, Systemair.
