Ventilation system

For this facility our specialists have designed and implemented a plan of a centralized supply and exhaust ventilation. It has a high-quality work (maximally efficient air exchange) and aesthetic (air ducts are hidden in a ceiling space).

In order to implement the ventilation system, we have used a principle of ‘clean’ and ‘dirty’ areas (zone principle):

  • "Clean" zones - living rooms in which residents spend a lot of time (bedrooms, nurseries, living rooms). These rooms must constantly receive fresh and clean air.
  • "Dirty" areas - these include bathrooms, toilets, wardrobes, utility rooms, etc. It is necessary to remove stagnant dirty air, odors, and moisture from these rooms.

Our specialists have selected the equipment from German manufacturer Maico - supply-and-exhaust ventilation unit WS 320 KBET. In spite of a small size (841х857х598 mm), the equipment has a high performance rate and supplies 320 m3 per hour. It is equipped with an enthalpic exchanger - it accumulates heat and moisture from the exhaust air flow and transfers it to the supply air. Due to the fact that moisture is reused by the enthalpy recuperator, there is no need to buy and install additional equipment for air humidification.

The customer can operate the ventilation unit with wall controllers or via a mobile application AirHome. 

Air distribution is realized via linear black diffusers Madel Look. They will perfectly fit into the design of the room and will provide air intake and supply.

Heating system

At this facility we have implemented a heating system based on the Viessmann VITOCAL 100-S AWB-ME-AC 101.A08 230V air-to-water heat pump. To obtain heat, this equipment uses natural energy sources, such as air and water, they are not only environmentally friendly, but also as energy efficient as possible. The Viessmann pump can work both for heating and heating hot water, and in the warm season, equipment is used for air conditioning.

The heat pump can be controlled using a WLAN module or remotely using the Vicare app. The heat pump is combined with an electrical insert and a cooling function, as well as a buffer tank Vitocell 100-E (for 200 liters) and Viessmann Vitocell 100-V (for 300 liters).

Heating of the kitchen-living room and two bedrooms is provided by Kermi FTV 33 and Kermi FTV 22 radiators. For heat distribution, the house has a floor heating system, which creates comfort regardless of the weather outside the window. As a heating element, specialists have used Uponor Comfort Pipe PE-Xa/EVOH multilayer pipelines. Underfloor heating temperature control is carried out with room thermostats.

Meibes pumping groups are used to circulate the coolant in the underfloor heating and radiator circuits.

Equipment placement
  1. ​Ventilation unit Maico WS 320 KBET is placed in the technical room.
  2. Linear diffusers Madel Look are placed in each room - for air supply or exhaust. 
  3. Underfloor heating collectors (for 4 and 5 circuits) - in the combined kitchen-living room.
  4. Radiator Kermi FTV 33 - in the kitchen-living room.
  5. Radiator Kermi FTV 22 - in the first bedroom and the second bedroom/study.
  6. Underfloor heating collector for 8 circuits - in the boiler room.
  7. The pumping group for radiator heating and underfloor heating is located in the boiler room.

​As a result, the Alter Air team designed and implemented a supply and exhaust ventilation system based on a Maico WS 320 ventilation unit with heat recovery, as well as a heating system in which underfloor heating and radiators from Kermi. The main heat source is the Viessmann Vitocal 100 air-to-water heat pump.

In addition, for the supply and intake of exhaust air, our team has designed linear single-slot diffusers from the Spanish brand Madel, the Look series; they laconically fit into the interior without getting out of the main picture of the house.
