Before proceeding with the organization of installation work, two important conditions must be met:
Provide a project from the designer, which indicates the location of plumbing fixtures, the type of device selected and its characteristics.
Joint work of an engineering company and a designer. At this stage, design documentation is being created, which presents drawings of the location of water supply and sewage pipes with their sections, as well as a pipe development with accurate references to the location of sanitary ware.
These items are the responsibility of the design engineer, the main task of the installers is to make everything according to the drawings.
There are two types of pipe layout:
Radial.
Installation of radial water supply implies an individual approach to each “wet zone”. Thus, several pipelines are laid from the manifold, one supplies water to the shower cabin, the second to the sink in the kitchen.The number of pipelines depends on the number of "wet zones".
In the event of a network breakdown, the water is blocked only in the damaged area, the rest of the devices operate as before.
Dead end.
Installation of dead-end type water supply systems is the use of one pipe for transporting hot water. The diameter of the pipeline is determined depending on the use of water by plumbing fixtures.
The positive features are:
Ease of installation, respectively, and plumbing in the apartment at a lower price.
Less consumption of materials, which also reduces financial investments.
There is also a significant drawback of this connection; if the pipeline network breaks down, it is necessary to shut off the water supply. Due to the fact that in this scheme there is no individual connection to each device, the apartment, or house will be completely left without water supply.
For the installation of a water supply system, pipelines of various materials can be used, but the quality and service life will depend on the pricing policy.
Consider the possible options:
1. Pipes made of cross-linked polyethylene have:
A high level of elasticity, with pressure drops in the system, the pipeline will remain intact;
Durability - withstand high temperatures;
Longevity - will serve you up to 50 years.
2. Metal-plastic pipes have more disadvantages than advantages:
Leaks often occur at pipe connections.
Material delamination may occur during installation.
Tendency to crack when exposed to sunlight.
3. Polyethylene pipes have the following characteristics:
Low coefficient of expansion, so the pipes are able to withstand the pressure drop in the system.
Resistant to high temperatures.
Constriction of the pipeline by 2.5 times during soldering, which leads to an increase in resistance in the system, so the pipeline system may burst and crack.
4. Metal pipelines are prone to corrosion, so the quality of the supplied water may drop sharply, which is unacceptable for the water supply system. Installation of water supply systems using this material is not recommended.
Installation of water supply using cold water should provide for the installation of high-quality thermal insulation to avoid condensation. The consequences of condensation can harm the health and comfort of the occupants of the house. Mold and dampness appear in the room, and destruction of steel elements (plumbing fixtures, fixtures, etc.) is also possible
When installing hot water pipes, thermal insulation is also necessary to reduce the amount of heat loss in the system and save on energy consumption.
The recirculation system is designed for a stable supply of hot water, according to regulatory documents, the water temperature should be +55°C.
Installation of water supply without recirculation implies not only a useless consumption of energy resources, but also discomfort for residents in the apartment.
In such a scheme, with closed mixers, hot water is in the pipeline without movement, respectively, it cools down. When you turn on the tap, cold water will initially flow, and then a little warmer, and hot water will appear only over time.
To avoid this situation, a recirculation pipeline is connected to the supply pipeline. Thus, the water maintains a stable standard temperature.
Installation of water supply cannot do without the “water leakage detection” system because it guarantees the shutdown of the pipeline during a breakdown.
The water leakage detection system consists of two main elements:
Locking mechanisms.
Electrical sensors.
The sensors react to the appearance of water due to a pipeline break, then the locking mechanisms are triggered, and the water supply is shut off.
It is worth noting that with a dead-end wiring diagram, the entire living space will remain without water, and with a radial water distribution system, only the damaged pipeline is blocked.
The water supply scheme in the apartment includes:
the location of all plumbing devices on the wall elevation with accurate horizontal and vertical references in order to understand where to bring hot and cold water pipelines;
water supply and sewerage pipelines are indicated;
technical characteristics of each equipment, namely: shower heads, taps, mixers, etc.
If the installation of the system is performed according to the wrong scheme, then the pipe is likely to be displaced by several centimeters, and this, in turn, will lead to a violation of the design project of the premises. It is possible to change the location of the pipes, but you will have to sacrifice your renovation and break the tiles. Therefore, we recommend that you do not deal with this issue yourself.

In case of incorrect selection of the section, you will have a problem - insufficient pressure in the showerhead. Because of this, the correct amount of water will not flow from the device and you will not be able to take a shower.
A hot/cold water meter is a device that helps calculate the exact amount of cold and hot water consumption to avoid overpayments.
Metering and control devices are used in apartments where residents consume water from a city supplier. In cottages, these elements of the system are often not used.
Water treatment is the process of improving the quality of water that enters the apartment from the central water supply system.
For cottages and private houses the following is used:
Water softeners.
Water iron removal system.
For apartments, only softeners are used.
The fact is that before water is supplied to the apartment, it is cleaned of hydrogen sulfide. However, the water is still hard. This entails not only the appearance of scale on the devices, but also some health problems (brittle hair, dry skin, kidney stones, etc.).
