Indoor unit check

First of all, specialists check the indoor unit of the air conditioner, namely:

• an air distribution grille (only in the case of a ducted air conditioner);
• heat exchanger;
• impeller;
• drainage system;
• electronics system.

1. The first step in this process is cleaning the air distribution grille. This is done so that it does not spoil the appearance of the room with its unaesthetic appearance.
2. Next, the heat exchanger is cleaned. Over time, dust and debris settles on its wet surface, which begin to drain down with the heat exchanger. High humidity and heat cause the growth of mold and mildew. Finally, the performance of the air conditioner drops due to the blocked air flow.
3. After that, the impeller and the drainage system are cleaned. If the drainage system is not cleaned in time, the hole in the sump will be clogged and the water flow will not be able to enter the sewer system. This will cause water to flow across the ceiling. We are sure you can guess the dire consequences of this.
4. The last step in servicing the indoor unit is to diagnose the operation of the electronics. Ideally, it should work in concert with the control panel.

​Check outdoor unit

When the indoor unit of the air conditioner is checked, specialists proceed to the outdoor one. There are 2 stages here:

1. cleaning the heat exchanger from lint, dust and dirt;
2. system pressure check.

We have already talked about cleaning the heat exchanger above, so we will go directly to the second point - checking the system for pressure. It must comply with certain standards. For this, a special station is connected, with the help of which the pressure is measured. If it is normal - great, nothing needs to be corrected. If the pressure is below normal, then this indicates a freon leak. It is usually accompanied by greasy spots on the surface where the device is located. If such a situation arises, specialists find the problem area and fix the problem. After the specialists are convinced that there is no more leakage, you need to refuel (in the case of R22 freon) or refill (R410A) the system with freon. In the second case, it is necessary to evacuate the residual amount of refrigerant to an evacuation station and fill the system with a new one.
